The VIVOE Ecosystem: How it All Connects

Smart lighting is more than just an app on your phone; it is a synchronised network of devices designed to make your home more intuitive. To build your system, it helps to understand the three layers that make the magic happen.

1. The Brain: The Smart Hub

Think of the VIVOE Smart Hub as the conductor of an orchestra. While your phone sends the commands, the Hub is what actually talks to your lights and sensors.

  • Why you need it: Instead of every single light bulb cluttering your home Wi-Fi, they connect to the Hub using Zigbee—a low-power, ultra-stable wireless language.
  • The Benefit: This keeps your home internet fast and ensures your smart home stays online even if your Wi-Fi dips.

2. The Language: Zigbee vs. Wi-Fi

How do the components "talk"?

  • Zigbee (The Professional Standard): Most VIVOE components use Zigbee. It creates a "mesh network," where each plugged-in device acts as a repeater, passing the signal along to the next. This means the further you expand your system, the stronger it becomes.
  • Wi-Fi: Used primarily for the Hub to communicate with your router, allowing you to control your home from anywhere in the world via the VIVOE App.

3. The Components: The "Team"

A smart system works together by assigning roles to different devices:

  • The Receivers (The Doers): These are your LED controllers and smart plugs. They receive instructions to dim, change color, or turn off.
  • The Triggers (The Thinkers): Sensors and Switches. A Motion Sensor can tell the "Receiver" to turn on the hallway lights when you walk past. A Wireless Switch can tell the "Receiver" to activate a "Movie Night" scene.
  • The App & Voice: The VIVOE App (and integrations with Alexa/Google Home) acts as your master remote, allowing you to set schedules, timers, and "if-this-then-that" rules.

How It Works in Practice: A Simple Scenario

  1. The Trigger: You walk into the kitchen at 7.00am and the HALO Motion Sensor detects you.
  2. The Signal: The sensor sends a quick Zigbee signal to the HOME Hub.
  3. The Action: The Hub knows it's morning, so it tells your Vibe LED Strips to turn on at 40% brightness in a "Warm White" tone to help you wake up gently.
  4. The Result: Seamless automation without you ever touching a switch or opening your phone.

Where do I start?

If you are using one of our partner installers they they will discuss system design with you, however if you are self installing then our advice would be to start small with a single room. Take a starter pack, install it and play with it - you'll soon become familiar with how it works and what it can do. After this you simply expand into different rooms by adding more items. If you are unsure the just try the basic stater pack and operate the system from your phone or by Voice Control using your Smartspeaker. After a short while you will then begin to see why a screen is a great idea - it's more convenient for families and visitors!

What should I expect?

VIVOE Halo is primariliy built as a Smart lighting system BUT it is open meaning that you can add any TUYA device such as curtain openers, garage openers, thermostats - many thousands of devices are available and can be added as and when required.

How much will it cost?

Weel obviously it depends how far you want to go, but a typical room with a presence sensor, some, plugs, dimmers and a control panel will be around £250 - so MUCH MUCH less than systems such as Lutron or Crestron. With VIVOE you are getting a system which just works, is fast, reliable & resilient.

You COULD just go and but TUYA items yourself and build a system BUT we have spend almost 2 years build this range, checking the quality and software and making sure it all works well - along the way we have discarded hundreds of products which promised much and delivered little - some of which were simply dangerous!

What about the future?

Our system is built around one of the worlds most popular Smart Ecosystems - TUYA - even if we shut our doors tomorrow, your system will continue working as normal. All software updates will continue to as normal and as we use well established protocols, maintenance and expansion is unaffected.

Are there any monthly fees?

No - there are no subscription costs.
